What defines normal?

The little kid's area at Coco Key

Sam's cheesy face

His favorite slide that was even dark inside!!! Brave little guy

Little Miss Independant, even she was so brave and exploring all over the place

Auntie Doreen and Sophia

Auntie Deanna and Auntie Doreen

Dasanee and Sam

Davion and Sophia

So yesterday we went to an indoor water park which was such a great time. But the planning that went into this, the worry about how it would go, and the anxiety it caused took away so much of the enjoyment. So we went and did a "normal family-type" activity, but unlike "normal" families I was so anxious. At one point Sam fell and hit his face, and all I could think was that he was going to start bleeding everywhere (he didn't, but that fear was there). Then I saw Sophia shudder as she was cold, and thought oh geez if she is getting chilly then Sam is probably freezing (he wasn't). But to say that we had fun would be the understatment of the year. Sam had so much fun and it was so wonderful to see him doing "normal" things that every other three and a half year old kid does, without any ill effects.
In other news, when I talked to his primary she mentioned wanting to possibly start him on a kind of controversial medication treatment. I am not sure about it at all yet, she is going to talk to the hematologist this coming week to see what her thoughts are. I am waiting to hear what both of their takes is on it, and then to obviously get all the info about it that I can to make the decision.

So glad that you guys got a taste of normality. It's such a lovely feeling to be able to celebrate these things but I very much understand the worry and planning that goes into an outing like this.
