Easter eggs

The kids had a blast at Meme's decorating eggs and then having an easter egg hunt. My favorite part of Easter this year, was realizing that my kids KNOW what easter is all about. That without a doubt that they know that Jesus died and rose from the dead, to forgive us and make a way for us to spend eternity with Him. What an awesome priviledge it is to watch God's children learn about His love for us:-)

Rejoicing!!!
I Corinthians 15:4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

Easter pics (FINALLY)

Goodness it seems as though lately I just can't keep up with this blog. Now that the warm weather is here we have been running what feels like all day every day. WE are so loving the sunshine and warm weather, I am starting to come out of the constant nausea stage with this pregnancy, so we are chomping at the bit to get out and enjoy the beautiful creation that God has given to us.
Easter this year was fun. My mom decided that it would be fun to have everyone dressed in purple. And so all of us (sadly minus DJ and Lyndsea though) wore purple. We actually got some family pics too:-)

Easter

This year the thought of what Christ did for me is just so overwhelming, I am reminded that I don't deserve His love and forgiveness, but that He CHOSE to give it to me. And I am ever so grateful.
This weekend was spent spending lots of time with family and friends. Between decorating easter eggs, church and visiting Dad at the hospital it has been quite a busy few days. But they have been beautiful.

Palm Sunday

Today is Palm Sunday, as we go into this week I am reminded so fully of God's love for me, even with my sin and shortcomings. It is easy to get caught up in the worries of this world, with our families, our children, our jobs, our finances, etc etc. But we mustn't ever forget the amazing sacrifice that our Lord made for us.
"On Palm Sunday Christians celebrate the Triumphal Entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the week before his death and resurrection. For many Christian churches, Palm Sunday, often referred to as "Passion Sunday," marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday.
The Bible reveals that when Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowds greeted him with waving palm branches, and by covering his path with palm branches. Immediately following this great time of celebration in the ministry of Jesus, he begins his journey to the cross." Definition from Christianity.com
A biblical account of Palm Sunday:
Mark 11:1-11 (NIV version):
The Triumphal Entry
1As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples, 2saying to them, "Go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. 3If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' tell him, 'The Lord needs it and will send it back here shortly.' "

4They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at a doorway. As they untied it, 5some people standing there asked, "What are you doing, untying that colt?" 6They answered as Jesus had told them to, and the people let them go. 7When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8Many people spread their cloaks on the road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9Those who went ahead and those who followed shouted,
"Hosanna![a]"
"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!"[b]
10"Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David!"
"Hosanna in the highest!"

11Jesus entered Jerusalem and went to the temple. He looked around at everything, but since it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.

The egg hunt...

What a day! We celebrated the resurrection of our Lord today by going to church and then to Matt's aunts and then my mom's. Did I mention it was a busy day!!!! The kids are exhausted. Sam hasn't been sleeping well, am thinking he is having some type of bronchospasm but am not sure why. Has never had any type of asthmatic type symptoms or any respiratory illnesses other than colds. But he has been having these coughing fits, spells of difficulty catching his breath for a couple of weeks now. Came to a head last night with significant difficulty breathing. Anyways we will have to get that evaluated this week.
Church was great, large crowds, very busy but wonderful. Then to MAtt's aunt and uncles for a wonderful meal, the kids were kind of difficult to contain but did ok. Then on to mom's for the easter egg hunt and dessert. She also played games with the kids which is so fun for them.
