Memorial Day

I am so thankful to be an American! And to have men and women who choose to take a stand and defend our freedom. For those families and loved ones that are left behind. To all the brave men and women, I SALUTE YOU and THANK YOU for giving your lives for us! For keeping us safe, for giving of yourself so unselfishly.
As a girl raised in a military family with both my parents, two of my siblings, uncles, cousins, grandparents that serve, I am just so aware of the sacrifices these people make. And I will be forever grateful!!!

The Dentist

Brought Sammy to the dentist the other day. This wasn't the first time, but since I didn't get pictures that time I took some. He was so awesome, the hygienest kept saying how good he was. The denist was so good with him, and Sammy just played with him and teased him. They said his teeth looked great, and that there was no plaque on them. What an answer to prayer that is. I always wonder how good a job I am doing on his teeth, because he goofs off so much it is hard to tell, but thankfully they look great.

Hampton Beach

Sam absolutely loves Davion, and they just truly enjoy playing with each other. Sam loves hanging out with the big kids. We are so going to miss these guys when they move to Florida:-(

Oh my goodness! WE had such a wonderful time at the beach. Both of my parents came with us as well as Denise and her family, two of her friends, and Deanna. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. My kids truly are water babies, and the tide was out so there were lots of little puddles of really warm water for them to play in. I wish that Matt could have gone with us, it would have made it a perfect day.

ER visits and Head CT...

So Sam slipped and fell in the tub last night. And immediately my brain went back to the last time I had spoken with his hematologist and her saying "I would have a very low threshhold for getting him checked out if he hits his head." So I sent a message to his PCP and since she was still awake I called her (she is SO THE BEST!!!) and she told me that I defintiely needed to take him up there. I then called the hospital and told them I was coming. We were seen within 10-15minutes, not sure if it is because of the bleeding disorder, or because I called, or becuase it was a head issue, but I am so thankful that they took us so quickly. Sammy fell asleep while we were in the waiting room, and didn't wake up throughout the whole rest of the time we were there. I layed him on a stretcher, picked him up, carried him to CT, layed him on the table for CT with his head between those block things, did the CT, picked him up, layed him back on the stretcher, the doctor examined him, shined a light in his face, picked him up carried him outside, buckled him in his carseat, drove home, carried him in and put him to bed and he has yet to wake!!!
The CT of his brain looked ok, so now we just have to watch him closely for the next 24 hours or so. So for now we just wait and pray. But I am just praising God at how quick and smooth the visit went, that the CT wasn't scary for him (he doesn't even know he had it:-)) and that everything is ok. Besides the big egg on his head, you wouldn't know anything had happened. I am so thankful the ER staff were great with us, and we are now home safe and sound. Thank you Lord

I Samuel 1:27-28, "I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord."

Just pictures:-)

Sophia and her "banday". She got this horrible bug bite, that swelled most of the top of her face, she kept picking it and I was afraid that it would get infected. She must of asked me to take a picture of her "banday" 20times that day:-)

Sammy and Dunn's Pond. We went last week with the MOPS group that I belong to. We had a great time

More answered prayers

We had a applied for a secondary insurance for Sam, a while back in february. Fully believing that we would initially be denied, and that we would have to apply again, a full three months later and then wait another 90 days for the decision. But we found out this week that he was approved on the first try! I am just so thankful for this, this will help pay for all the co-pays for doctors visits and medications, and maybe also help with the insurance premium!!! Praise God for moving more mountains in our lives!!!

Heywood Hospital

Today was Sam's IVIG. And we got to do it at the local hospital!!! This is such a tremendous anser to prayer for me. He is absolutely comfortable on the unit, I am actually friends with Carol (our nurse) and therefore he has no anxiety whatsover. The unit was decorated like a pirate ship, and so he was walking around going "aaarrggghh" all day! IV was in on one stick, unfortunately it took three attempts to get his blood work drawn though, (the labs drawn off the IV hemolyzed). So it was a great success!!! I am just rejoicing now at this answered prayer. My friend Sara took Sophia, and she also had a great day. It worked so well.:-) I can't stop smiling.

Davis Farmland

So Uncle Dennis calls and says "Hey I am going to be at Davis Farmland tomorrow for Hero's weekend." And he invited us to go. The kids were so excited, only Uncle Dennis wasn't there:-( There were other military men there and Sam was scared of them. They also had firefighters, police, and EMT's. The kids got to go in the various vehicles and had a great time. And of course we got to see lots of animals, do face painting with Auntie Johanna and play at the playground there. The kids had a great time and the weather was fabulous
