Digging Up Worms

We are so excited to be planting a garden this year. I CANNOT wait to have fresh veggies right from the garden. So delicious. I have been reading another blog (www.4tunate.net) and they had been talking about planting a "Square Foot" garden. So that is what we are attempting to do. It essentially is a way of planting that makes the most efficient use of your space. So needless to say Daddy and the kids have been working out there a lot the last few days. They got a kick out of all the worms they were finding in the dirt:-)

Spring adventures

The kids and I have been out almost every day this past week on a bike ride. The kids have been riding their bikes and I have been walking beside them. THey are having so much fun. We are so blessed to live in an area where there are many bike paths and areas to get out and enjoy the enviroment. Soph has intermittently been complaining more often about her legs hurting. I am noticing it more and more. We get outside and she starts complaining shortly after she is very active. Poor kid, I am not exactly sure what to do at this point, since the orthopedic doctor wants to wait until the fall to determine if this is a real problem or not.

We had such a wonderful time this weekend going to pick our own perfect Christmas tree and cut it down. We have never gone to this particular farm before and it was wonderful. They had a hayride that brought you down to the area where the trees were. We then wandered all through the trees looking for the best one. This year my parents and younger sisters came with us. It was so awesome. I am hoping that this can become a family tradition every year.

HAYRIDE!!!!


Today the kids got to wear their costumes and march in a parade. They thought it was a blast to be "in a parade." They also got to have a hayride with their friend Alex. It was really really cold today, so noses and little hands were freezing.
Something else that was kind of cool today, we saw someone who I had taken care of their child about a year or so ago at the hospital. I introduced her by name to Matt, and her response was that I had saved her child. I absolutely did not, but it sure felt nice to know that I had made such an impact in their lives. The even cooler part is that I have invited her to our MOPS group through the church and she has been attending this whole season so far.:-) I love to see how God opens doors for us to witness to others, and to see where that witnessing goes.

Snack time



A wonderful friend from work invited the kids and I over for a pony ride the other day. To say Sam was excited would be the understatement of the year! He was so thrilled to be doing this. Judy was kind enough to give him a few separate rides. She also let the kids sit on her bare back as well as brush her and feed her snacks. The kids had a fabulous time:-)

Matt went with Sam, Ivan and Savannah and hiked Mount Monadnock yesterday! I am so happy that Sam got to go on a hike with Daddy, and that Matt got to do something enjoyable:-) It sounds like they had a good time. Sam was completely exhausted when he got home. Matt brought a big backpack that Sam could ride in if he got too tired, but for the most part he did the whole hike himself:-) Can't believe my baby is hiking mountains now. Mount Monadnock is 3,165 feet (965 m) tall. Still can't believe Sammy climbed most of this himself and then came back down.
