What a day! We celebrated the resurrection of our Lord today by going to church and then to Matt's aunts and then my mom's. Did I mention it was a busy day!!!! The kids are exhausted. Sam hasn't been sleeping well, am thinking he is having some type of bronchospasm but am not sure why. Has never had any type of asthmatic type symptoms or any respiratory illnesses other than colds. But he has been having these coughing fits, spells of difficulty catching his breath for a couple of weeks now. Came to a head last night with significant difficulty breathing. Anyways we will have to get that evaluated this week.
Church was great, large crowds, very busy but wonderful. Then to MAtt's aunt and uncles for a wonderful meal, the kids were kind of difficult to contain but did ok. Then on to mom's for the easter egg hunt and dessert. She also played games with the kids which is so fun for them.

Sam is doing ok, although is eating very poorly if at all. He has also been saying "Mommy I am very sick" When you ask him what is wrong he complains of belly pain, a head ache, his legs aching and itchiness. He has been very quiet and not as active as normal, and taking longer naps. Praying it is nothing but with him you just never know. In positive news we got some of the allergy testing back. I guess there is a new test called an "immuno-cap" that is as good as other types of allergy testing and is just a small vial or two of blood. So we did that a few weeks ago, most of the things they tested for were NEGATIVE!!! Thank you God. The one thing that was positive was dairy, which totally stinks, but that is better than him being allergic to everything.
So I guess at this stage of the game we are just waiting it out with Sam. I will be so curious to see what his immunoglobulin levels are next month. It is going to feel like forever waiting for them. I know right now I am overly anxious about him and just waiting to see if he gets sick. So when he complains of being very sick, a variety of other complaints, sleeping more, and eating less, it scares the heck out of me. Please pray for him
Here is a variety of pics from the last week or so with him. We went to the playgym and have been playing outside tons. He just loves being outside, and is so protective of Sophia. He wanted to know where she was at all times.

We have graduated to a new carseat. Not that she is actually too big for the infant carseat, but I just feel like she would be much more comfortable in a bigger one. She seems to like it as long as she isn't actually sitting in it. It is great, and so worth the money. It can be used all the way until 100lbs and 50 inches so longer than it should be needed.

The Clowns, these guys and two other regular clowns, were sources of constant laughter for us. They were always HYSTERICAL


The new toys and balloons they got for us. They even got him a Thomas balloon and fire engine balloon as they knew he really liked those. We truly were blessed by these amazing women

One of our two FAVORITE nurses!!! This is Kerry. She just started working there very closely to when we started going there and she took care of Sammy often. She always comes and visits even if she doesn't have him. We will miss you!!!


Yesterday was officially Sam's last treatment Lord willing!!!! I am thrilled beyond words, yet petrified at the same time. He actually has been fighting some respiratory thing for greater than two weeks, and it has not gotten any better. It will be scary to see how things go when he doesn't have the immunoglobulins working for him.
The staff at Children's Hospital were amazing as always! We are truly grateful for all of them. How else would my two and a half year old LOVE going to get his treatment. He runs down the hallway and says "I'm back!!!"
They got the IV in on one try which is always a tremendous blessing. They started his medicine and then Khadeisha the Child Life Specialist (basically her job is to keep the kids entertained) played with him. They got him this great new eighteen wheel truck full of Matchbox cars, and an easter basket. They also got Sophia a little farm animal set that sings and makes animal sounds, and also an easter basket. We have had such a wonderful experience with all of these ladies, I truly am going to miss them. They asked us to come and visit whenever we can. I am sure we will. We have several appointments coming up in the next several weeks.
It is such a blessing to have such great medical care for him and to have that medical care be given with such great compassion and love. These women were genuinely sad that we would no longer be coming there.
They gave me copies of his IgG levels, and were even able to tell me yesterdays before I left. Yesterday he was at 1038. The normal range is 400-1300, so this level was great. The plan now is to recheck his level every 2months or so. If the levels start to drop off, or he gets sick then they will restart the treatment. Please pray that we are done with this...
In other news Sophia has lost three ounces and STILL has an ear infection!! We have moved on to antibiotic number 3. She is now 16lb 12oz. We go back next week for our follow up. I am anxious about this. Ultimately with Sammy the whole reason we ended up with treatments was related to his poor reaction to antibiotics, getting the colitis and stuff. And ultimately that is when they started checking his levels. Now with Sophia she has been on four antibiotics since december and has been allergic to two of them...

Our weekend away!!!

First a special thank you to Grandma, Meme, Nana, Auntie Doreen and Auntie Coleen for all of you taking care of the kiddos. I was so anxious leaving them (I know they were totally in good hands but I haven't had the healthiest kids, and they were already sick when I left)
Matt and I went away for the weekend to a marriage conference put on by FamilyLife. It was called A Weekend to Remember. It was a life changing experience for us. I am so thankful that Matt wanted to do this. We both feel refreshed and have a clearer direction for our marriage/lives. I am thankful to God for allowing this to all come together for us. I highly recommend it for any married couple that could use a little encouragement in their marriage, or that just needs a weekend away to get to know each other better. Whether just starting out (there were engaged couples) to people who have been married for years (their were a few couples that had been married for fifty plus years!
