Sammy's favorite Elmo pajamas

Sammy seems to be feeling a little better, he played with Dasanee at mom's today. He is still sleeping a lot but is happy again. Hopefully tomorrow he will feel even better. Here are some pictures of him and Dasanee, and Sophia in her first jean jumper, too cute but she didn't notice:)

CAT Scan and Post-concussive syndrome
Well Sammy didn't come away from getting hit with the bat as unscathed as origionally thought. We ended up getting a CAT scan yesterday, as the doctor thought that there may have been a skull fracture (Praise God that there wasn't!). However my guy still hasn't been acting himself, and seems to be acting like he feels worse than when he actually got hit: sleeping more, crying (A LOT), eating poorly (although this isn't new), trying to stick things in his ears, crying to come INSIDE!!! (this from the kid who would live outside if we let him.) Anyways I felt this lump behind his ear and the doctor yesterday didn't really give me peace of mind when telling me wshat was going on. They also told me to call his primary first thing today, so I did. They gave us the first appointment of the day and Sammy cried when we got there, everyone was so worried as he usually is so happy and playful. We saw Dr. V, and she said Post Concussive syndrome, I figured he could have gotten a concussion but the doctor yesterday said nothing about it so I thought I was just being a nervous mom. He did so good for the CAT scan, laying perfectly still. Again not normal for him to be perfectly still, but he was so good. Daddy went in with him and I stayed with Miss Sophia.
So needless to say we just have to keep our eyes on him and hopefully within a few days his symptoms will improve. The doctor said we are fortunate that it was his ear that took the brunt of the blow, but that she is concerned because the side of the skull/back of the ear is not very strong. So please pray for my little guy, that he feels better, that God completely quickly heals him. We go back tomorrow to the doctor, she was surprised at the swelling and hematoma that were still so big, and wants to see improvement with that tomorrow.
Here I was thinking that we weren't going to live at the doctor's this week. Tomorrow will make 3 days in a row. Tommorow we get Sophia weighed too, I am thinking that she is close to like 6lb 5 or a little more. It will be good to see. I will try to post pics later, if my clingy boy is clinging to daddy instead of me. The cuddling has been so nice, I miss that with him, although it is definitely more difficult to feed Sophia too.

Playground fun
Today we went to the playground with Denise and her kids. It was fun, but poor Sammy looks like he got in a fight. First he fell and got a terrible bloody nose, then he fell and skinned the side of his face, forehead and chin. Then to top it all off, we went back to mom's for a barbecue, and he was accidently hit in the head with a BAT!!!! Needless to say I can totally understand why there are crimes of passion, I had to physically leave because I wanted to hurt the child that hurt my baby! I am still so angry about it even though I know it was an accident. I mean he was old enough to know that he shouldn't be swinging a METAL bat around little kids, and I had already told him to pay attention to the kids when he was playing. He swung and knocked Sam right to the ground. I am still so mad. His poor little ear is black and blue, and has cuts and is very swollen as is the side of his head. Mom seems to think he will be fine, that the ear took the brunt of the blow. Say some prayers for my tough little guy please. I have a feeling these is the first of many boo-boos this summere

Funny
You know you have a little boy when...
-you hear a certain laugh and you know it means trouble (I heard Sammy laughing today from the kitchen and knew he was up to no good, he thought Sophia needed to go on an amusement park ride, he was pushing the head of the bouncing seat all the way to the ground and letting it go, thus sending Sophia flying with each bounce.
-you see him from across the playground and you know no matter how quick you get there the rocks will fly at the other child before you can stop him (at least the other kid threw them first, and they both were laughing as they threw them at each other
-when there is another mom bending over to tie her child's shoe and your son goes behind her and dumps a pile of rocks down her jeans!!! I nearly died, I was so embarassed. The other mom was so funny though, she said that she stuck it out there for him and he just couldn't help himself.
Sophia is much less gassy and fussy since I have stopped giving her the fortifier and high calorie formula. I saw the lactation consultant today and she weighed her, she was almost 6lb2oz prefeeding and almost 6lb4oz after the feeding. WE are slowly making progress. I love this dress that she is wearing. The weather was 70 today so I just had to put her in it. My mom bought it forever ago, and I have been waiting for her to wear it. She is finally starting to fit into some newborn clothes. Hopefully we will continue to grow. I am keeping my fingers crossed for 7lbs next week, and a very happy doctor's visit, please say some prayers that she grows well.

For all those Mommys
I received this today, and was reminded of the awesome blessing/responsibility we have by being a mom. What a wonderful wonderful gift God has chosen to share with us.
A newborn's conversation with God....
A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to
earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and
helpless?' God said, 'Your angel will be waiting for you and will take
care of you.'
The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I
don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your
angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel
your angel's love and be very happy.'
Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to
understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God
said, 'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak. 'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'
'Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.'
'But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name.'
God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'
